  • Regina Leonard

Who was that "Regina" on the Mikey Show?

With influences ranging from James Brown to Jewel, the Temptations to New Edition, Bob Seger to Alan Jackson, it's understandable if Del Mar's Regina Dawn finds it a bit tough to quickly describe her music. ... It might be tempting for her to call it folk ---- she writes her own songs, after all, and accompanies herself on acoustic guitar. ... Three years ago, she took another big step in her growth as a musician when she began writing her own songs. Then, two years ago, she began singing her own songs in public ---- debuting as a singer/songwriter at Twiggs in San Diego. With about "10 good, solid songs" in her repertoire, Dawn is ready to start thinking about recording a CD of her own music. She'd eventually like to work on the music full time, to someday have the music be her day job. JIM TRAGESER - Staff Writer, North County Times

  • Import Tire - Rest in Peace

    771 13th Street, San Diego, CA, 92101, 619-291-6666

Progress has finally caught up with was on San Diego finest business. Imminent domain forces Import Tire to close. Thank you San Diego. If Import Tire was still in business you wouldn't have been handed a cup of coffee, placed on a uncomfortable seat and later handed a bill with annoying tire balancing charges after the long wait. You would have loved the quick service. Import Tires was by far the best place in San Diego to purchase automobile tires. You'll never find a better to shop for tires again. Once again thank you San Diego. Thank you Import tires for all the great years of service.

  • Shelter Island

Avoid the high cost of living

Got the foreclosure blues, why not try to get back on your feet by living free on waterfront property, enjoying friendly neighbors, and getting a wonderful view of downtown San Diego. Then try Shelter Island located in Point Loma, San Diego. Nearby bathroom facilities cleaned daily, finally your tax dollars working for you. Overnight stays are not permitted from 12:00 PM to 4:00 AM, but no problem. Adequate parking can be found in nearby neighborhoods. Heck with nearby neighborhoods, just park on Shelter Island Drive at night. It does not get any better.

  • ITunes

So far we like ITunes for downloading music, no monthly fees (Yahoo), each song purchased individually. Ease to find music. ITunes major drawback is no capability to convert music to MP3 unless burned to a CD. So we are impressed with Noteburner $(34.95) to convert DRM M4P itunes music to MP3, M4A to MP3, WMA to MP3 or WAV with Virtual CD-RW. No more burning CDs, music save to hard drive. For you Steve Jobs.

  • Keep those Passwords safe

Free, open source, light-weight and easy-to-use password manager.

Today you need to remember many passwords. You need a password for the Windows network logon, your e-mail account, your homepage's FTP password, online passwords (like website member account), etc. etc. etc. The list is endless. Also, you should use different passwords for each account. Because if you use only one password everywhere and someone gets this password you have a problem... A serious problem. The thief would have access to your e-mail account, homepage, etc. Unimaginable.

  • How do volcanoes work?

A website that describes the science behind volcanoes and volcanic processes

The site is sponsored by NASA under the auspices of Project ALERT (Augmented Learning Environment and Renewable Teaching). It is intended for the education of university students of geology and volcanology and teachers of earth science. Each section in the builds upon previous sections. For users who lack fundamental knowledge of volcanological principles and terms, it is best to proceed through the website in a progressive manner.
